Pre-Event Briefing: Thursday prior to event at 19:30 on the 146.700 simulcast repeater system. Roll-Call and Answer Questions
Activity Description: The Miwok 100k is a highly competitive footrace around the Mount Tamalpais-Marin Headlands hills of Southern Marin.  It is extremely arduous: The first finishers will take more than nine hours, and the last of the pack will take almost twice that time. It makes the Dipsea look like a walk in the park. About 400 runners will participate. Again, the event starts well before dawn (check-in at 04:15) and will close up after dark. Net control will be at the Stinson Beach start-finish. There will be seven rest stops with radio operators—a dozen of us will be needed. As with any event based at Stinson, there will be repeater-coverage challenges. Weather may be a factor this early in the year, and the nature of the event will call on our emergency comms abilities. Most of us will serve for the entire event, but you should let us know if a shorter shift will work for you.
What will be expected: You will arrive at your assigned location at your assigned time. See duty assignments for your time. You will check in with net control and report your status. You will identify yourself to the event personnel at your site. You may expect to relay messages between the event personnel and the start. You may be asked to render assistance to the event personnel. Some operators may be asked to sweep participants from the course or be asked to ride with event personnel while they are sweeping. You will be released by net control depending on your location. See: Miwok Assignment Locations when available.
