Brian Cooley KM6EZX describes how he plans to direct and shoot a Best Practices training video to his team of volunteer ham radio operators who are members of the Marin Amateur Radio Society. Michael Fischer K6MLF filmed this session on November 20, 2019, at the back lot behind the Marin Civic Center Auditorium in San Rafael.
The Marin Amateur Radio Society Christmas party will be held on Wednesday 11 December at our Mill Valley club house. Dinner will include Turkey with all the fixins and and of course Ham. The cost is $25.00 per person if you purchase before 11/27/19 and $30.00 after including at the door. There will also be a short meeting, announcement of awards and door prizes. Michael Fischer K6MLF captures Doug Slusher KF6AKU enjoying a lunch break at Gordon Valley Fire Station in Napa County, which was one of the stops of the Saturday October 19, 2019 event organized by the Davis Bike Club that is known as Foxy’s Fall Century.
The annual club picnic will be held on 14 September 2019 at Piper Park 250 Doherty Dr in Larkspur starting at 11:00 am. The club will supply burgers, dogs, fixins, and sodas. You bring yourself and your family. If you feel inclined bring salads or desserts. You can download the flyer. Our sister club, the San Francisco Radio Club needs your help. On July 28 the 42nd running of the San Francisco Marathon will take place with SFRC providing communications. They are looking for volunteers to work the event. This event is not part of the Marin Amateur Radio Society’s public service calendar but I know many of you are always ready to help out. Due to the proximity of our general meeting to the Fourth of July we have cancelled the July general meeting. The next general meeting will be 2 August 2019. Since July is also a month where many of us go on vacation we have decided to also cancel the July board meeting. The board will next meet on 8 August.

More work has been done at the club house. The cover was installed for the com truck. In addition the overgrown foliage has been cleared.
